Emergency First Aid at Work with a focus on sports related injuries.

Following feedback from you last year, UPSU is pleased to offer its members the opportunity to undertake the standard Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) course with a Sports First Aid bolt on. Accredited by ITC and provided by Really Good First Aid, these qualifications are designed to provide you with essential life saving skills, with the sports bolt on focussing on sport related injuries/illnesses.

Topics include:

  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assessing incidents
  • Dealing with collapse (with and without breathing)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Seizures
  • Minor workplace incidents
  • Using first aid kit
  • Sports Related Injuries/Illnesses (Bolt On)

Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance. You will recieve a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work and in Sports First Aid.

Discounts are available to designated First Aiders of a UPSU Sports Club or Society. These discounted tickets are limited to a certain number per a club/society. If you are purchasing one of these discounted tickets, you should have permission to do so from your club's/society's committee. Your membership status of a club/society will be verified by UPSU's Student Development team.
