What motivated you to run for a full-time representative role?
I was motivated to run for president of science and engineering as after four years at the University, I believe there are things that could be changed to improve the student experience to better serve those that are studying here. Whether through developing the wellbeing services or through building a more connected student body; I want to help ensure that any changes made strengthen the student body through providing strong leadership and communication between the University and students
Why do you think you would be a good President?
As a part of club and society committees over four years, I have been active within the SU community bringing forward issues and helping develop solutions including the HuddleUPSU mental‑health campaign. I have strong communication skills and a passion to see improvement within the Students Union and University. As president, I would want to connect with as many students as possible, so that I am able to best represent all students on all issues and ensure their voice shapes any changes.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Adventurous, outgoing and dedicated
If you could change one thing in your Faculty what would that be?
If I could change one thing it would be improving connections between students. By having regular faculty wide events, such as networking and wellbeing events, students would be able to connect with their peers who are studying in similar fields allowing them to build larger networks outside of their course and school. I think it is important for students to share a sense of community within their faculty as it helps encourage support between students that can help carry them through university.
