I am currently an MA Education student. I received my bachelor’s from the University of Florida (UF) in Political Science. During my time at UF, I was elected as a student Senator to represent students living outside of the city. I took part in many meetings and voted on many issues that concerned the student body. After my bachelors I worked on numerous political campaigns, including those of Congresswoman Demings & President Obama. I spent 3 years as a secondary school educator before deciding to come to the University of Plymouth and pursue my master’s degree.
If elected as VP Education, I will;
1. Advocate for student polling regarding decisions that affect the students. Many decisions that effects the student body are made without consulting the students on campus. I will advocate to ensure student’s opinions are heard before decisions are made through online polling.
2. Advocate to increase information given to students regarding Erasmus funding. Many students are unaware of the funding available to study a semester abroad. I will advocate to increase e-mails and online information so that students are more informed regarding their Erasmus opportunities, including post-Brexit.
3. Advocate to increase support for mature students. I will work closely with the Mature Student Officer to ensure that mature students are getting all the help possible throughout their education.
