My name is Philip Anazia (Yxng Philz), I am a 2nd year student at Plymouth University, running for the position of VP Sport.
My first aim is to support smaller sports clubs to increase memberships and participation, thereby encouraging greater success in all competition. I will do this by raising awareness through presentations and increased promotion around the university. I will also work with UPSU staff to create links with local sports clubs, exploring the shared use of training facilities and equipment.
By conducting in-depth research of students that are members of more than one club, I will review the opportunities for greater collaborative working between the different student groups, thereby optimizing the resources and opportunities available for everyone.
Finally, another goal of mine is to gain additional publicity for our already successful sports clubs, assisting them to progress to even greater heights. All the while putting the same time and effort into the smaller teams, giving them the ability to be successful in the same fashion, whilst increasing the enjoyment of their university sporting experience. By compiling and sharing knowledge from larger clubs, smaller clubs will also benefit.
