Tilda Fraser

Hello! I’m Tilda and I’ve been your elected Vice President Welfare & Diversity for the past 8 months. In this time, I have completed all my manifesto points and, if elected as president, I pledge to continue working in the best interest of our diverse student body. I’m passionate about a Union which is led by the voice of its members

My Pledges:

Post-NUS Strategy: Now that we have left the NUS, we should increase UPSU’s engagement in regional student issues which directly affect you. I will work in partnership with students to ensure that a strong student voice forms the foundation of our post-NUS strategy

• Stop Single Use Plastic: By increasing UPSU’s investment into sustainable alternatives to single use plastics, I will use my knowledge of UPSU’s resources and practices to source practical options which meet student demands to be ecologically friendly

Democratic Processes: I will develop meaningful links between our Union Council Chair, Part Time Officers and students to further develop our democratic processes. This forms clear lines of communication between our Council, Forums, Committees and the University so representation is at its prime and real issues are dealt with

• Rape & sexual violence: Create clear and effective policy and procedures about sexual violence within the Union and the University, which supports survivors whilst holding perpetrators to account
