Wellbeing should always be a main priority - not just in terms of education and employment, but in every aspect of life. I will aim to:

Raise awareness of wellbeing and diversity topics by creating more platforms for learning (e.g. guest speakers & online resources) and improving on current platforms by advertising clearly and consistently what is available. Every student should have the opportunity to learn about different wellbeing and diversity topics (such as mental health, disability and more) no matter what your area of study.

Create more opportunities for positive wellbeing experiences, that are free and on a regular basis: I will be lobbying for the Uni to consider other activities, alongside sport, as a tool to help wellbeing – aiming to promote a wider participation and create more choice for students. I also aim to signpost current support groups the Uni offer and create more, to improve access and availability for all students.

Provide support to Personal Tutors around opportunities to develop their knowledge of wellbeing and diversity topics: This is to signpost students to the appropriate services and to also ensure they are equipped to support them themselves. Students should be fully supported around campus and have more choice in where they seek help. An approachable, familiar face to talk to can be a good first step for support, guidance and early intervention.
