I have been an active member of several clubs and societies, co-founded a society and been on 3 committees.
After speaking to several societies, I have created an achievable pledge to benefit you:
I will ensure every society has a successful handover where all knowledge and resources are passed on, as well as support sourcing training for key skill specific positions where required. I will also work with the university and estates to make them aware of and provide access to required facilities and spaces for societies and student group activities on campus.
All students should have the opportunity to participate in societies regardless of financial status. I will continue to work with UPSU to tackle financial barriers facing students when taking part in activities by optimising resources available such as the activities fund and sponsorship options.
I will bridge the gap between the university and UPSU so that faculties can support societies and promote their successes. I will also raise awareness of SU activities amongst the student body by utilising marketing resources and collaborating with media societies.
I will increase the opportunities available for students to gain degree related experience within volunteering and community roles. I will do this by increasing the database and creating links with faculties to promote course related roles.
