FELICITY ALLMAN

I've become increasingly involved in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and I would love the opportunity to make use of those connections to represent the student voice! Over the past two years, I've made progress unofficially representing nursing and midwifery students' views on issues from research opportunities to sustainability to student wellbeing, so it only makes sense to continue that drive in an official capacity.

Research opportunities: I am currently working with the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences on the development of a Student Research Forum, offering help and advice, opportunities for travel and training, and matching researchers to student research assistants. Involving nurses and midwives in research raises the profile of these professions, and becoming a school representative would strengthen my voice and add support for this mission.

Sustainability: A priority for the University and in practice, I believe nursing and midwifery students have the capacity to transform the sustainable practices of the School, and continue the success of the Guardian University Award-winning NurSusTOOLKIT Project.

Student wellbeing: Again, nursing and midwifery students are well placed to promote change in student wellbeing, and I am proud to have been part of the School's Schwartz Center Rounds and reflective practice groups. Plus, as a long-term volunteer for Beat, Mind and the Cavell Nurses' Trust, I hope to guide collaborative working between these organisations, our students, and the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

I'm a student editor of the Nursing Times, student information officer for the Royal College of Nursing, and one of the Council of Deans of Health's 150 Leaders. I was previously a course rep for mental health nursing, and am currently a service user representative for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I would love to represent you in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
