I’m Beth, a final year Media Arts student running for VP Activities & Development. I'm on the committee of two sports clubs this year, one of which is Charity Sec. I would love to be elected as I am extremely passionate about making a difference, helping people and encouraging growth.
Social Media
I plan to improve the way events are advertised, concentrating on social media. Providing training for societies on how to make the most out of their account. Encouraging societies to regularly promote all their events and keep you up to date with what’s going on. I will work closely with Radio and TV to have weekly slots for societies to discuss their achievements and upcoming events.
Networking
I will hold regular networking events so societies can share their skills and best practice with each other. These collaborations are key to encouraging people to share their experience, try new things and develop their skills. I will support and encourage societies to further collaborate, creating bigger and better events. Also making Refreshers fair bigger and better. As well as increase international student’s engagement with societies and volunteering.
Skills
I strongly believe that gathering the opinions of students and what they want in terms of the ‘Build Your future’ workshops is extremely important to ensure that the workshops offered interests all students. I will also involve people outside of the university and I will seek sponsorship to support these workshops, allowing students to widen their knowledge. It’s important that this benefits all.
