ADRIENNE SOLON

Hi, I’m Adrienne Solon and I’m running as your next VP Welfare & Diversity!

Mental Health

I will encourage the university to be more reliable and considerate to students with mental health issues. I plan to suggest a collaboration with the elected VP Education to make the extenuating circumstance and long term ill health processes accessible and flexible.

I will lobby the university to provide better support for mentally ill students. This will result in improved metal health care and the promotion of events and services.

Inclusion for all students

Encouraging a bigger presence of our students on campus by collaborating with representatives of various communities and cultures to both educate and celebrate the diversity of our university.

By promoting student engagement with the SU I will be in the best position to act and work on the issues of current students.

To promote solidarity and empowerment I want to celebrate International Women’s Day with the future Women and Non Binary Students Part Time Officer and hold a Sadie Hawkins Day Dance similar to the likes of the Summer Ball.

Rape and Sexual Health

Consent is a really important part of university life. At PU there is little advice and a lot of taboo surrounding the topic. I plan to work alongside current campaigns and continue James’ work to make a safer university environment.

I hope to work with The Zone and have pop up sessions on campus, where students can come ask questions or get screened.
