Best Placement Support Award

sstar20

The Best Placement Support Award is awarded to a member of staff who has made a significant positive impact on your placement. This can be either a year out placement, part of your course, an internship, or summer placement. They may provide support, offer practical advice, assist you in navigating your transition into academic life and/or help you implement the knowledge and skills you’ve gained on placement.

And the winner is...

Jonathan Unsworth-White
Faculty of Health, Honorary Associate Professor (Clinical Senior Lecturer)

“Mr Unsworth-White is a brilliantly dedicated placement supervisor, who supports students in all years of medical school... He is also personally responsible for the 'peri-operative pathway week', which introduces students to heart surgery, he has worked super hard to make it accessible for us, ensuring excellent teaching and a welcoming and safe environment.”

Due to the strength of the nominations received we’ve also selected a Highly Commended nominee.

Highly Commended: Rebecca Holtom
Faculty of Health (School of Psychology), Clinical Tutor

“Rebecca has been an absolute rock for me through my training so far. She has consistently been available and willing to offer support which I feel often goes above and beyond what she needs to do. Rebecca is very warm and caring, and always makes time if you need to talk, offload, or just vent your anxieties, frustrations or concerns.”
