This workshop is the first in a series of instalments entitled 'The Worst Book in the World?'. Each session will be run in the same way: we begin with the reading of a passage from a book nominated by our committee as possibly the worst book ever. After a post-reading break to let you absorb what you have just experienced (trust us, you'll need it), we will have a lively chat about our thoughts on the passage. In the second half of the workshop, we will do some light revision on literary techniques that have been used, misused, or completely disregarded in the offending passage, and finally have a crack at reworking and improving it ourselves. This is a fun learning opportunity, and we hope the start of a beautiful workshop series.
