What motivated you to run for a Sabbatical Officer role and why do you think you would be a good Sabbatical Officer?

I am motivated to run for the position of Vice President (Education), because I am driven by an unwavering commitment to foster a transformative and empowering educational experience for every student. Education is the cornerstone of progress, and I believe in the power of an inclusive, innovative, and student-centered approach to learning. I possess the following skills:Strong leadership skills, effective communication skills which is crucial to convey ideas and engage the various stakeholders.

Why is the Sabbatical Officer role important

The Sabbatical Officer (Vice President – Education) role is instrumental as they often engage in educational initiatives, raising awareness about important issues, promoting student rights, providing resources that empower students to navigate their academic journey successfully and also ensure that the student voice is heard, advocating for positive change, and fostering an environment that supports the holistic development and well-being of students within educational institutions.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Friendly, Supportive and Dependable

If you could change one thing about the University, what would that be?

I consider focusing on enhancing student well-being, academic support, or campus inclusivity. Here are a few potential areas of improvement: Mental Health Support Academic Support Inclusivity and Diversity Environmental Sustainability Community Engagement

If you could change one thing about the Students' Union, what would it be? 

To improve the Students' Union, one potential area of focus could be enhancing transparency and communication. Transparency is crucial for building trust and ensuring that students are well-informed about the union's activities and decisions and also seeking input from students and involving them in the process of identifying and implementing changes is crucial for success.

Who do you draw most inspiration from and why?

I draw my inspiration from Mr. Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra state in Nigeria; he lives fearlessly, work to improve the world with kindness and his concept of Success is the measure to which a human being commits to building a better society.

What is your proudest moment so far and why?

Winning the position of Vice President in my cooperative against all odds.
