Giving students a voice to build their own university experience
1. Panopto as an educational tool
Panopto is a service that is currently offered to some, but not all courses across the university. This service has proven invaluable to those students who have experienced it and I will work to extend panopto to all courses in every faculty where it may be used successfully.
I will further lobby the university to ensure that the use of panopto is enforced so that a consistent, reliable service is available to all students.
2. Library Resources
I will work in partnership with the university to extend the resources available to students through the university library. I will extend the library’s access to online journals to facilitate learning as well as ensuring that more specialist programs used by individual courses are made available through computer facilities within the library building.
3. Placements and Employability
I will work to deliver custom sessions in the first year for those students who wish to partake in a placement year to support and inform them early on in their applications for placements. I will lobby the university to create a dedicated online space where placements and internships with partner companies may be advertised, to further support students in the difficult search for a placement opportunity.
