Rowing

Founded in 2000, the University of Plymouth Rowing Club (UPRC) is one of the fastest-growing university rowing squads in the South West. We welcome everyone - from complete beginners to seasoned athletes. Based at Dart Totnes Rowing Club, we train on the water up to three times a week with a professional coach, supported by land training, circuits, and group fitness sessions that build strength, confidence, and team spirit.

We also run a 4-week Learn to Row course to introduce new members to rowing, the club, and our community.

Head Race

UPRC will host our Head Race on Saturday 14th February - one of the South West’s most scenic rivers. Open to clubs and universities across the region, the event features two divisions, full safety provision, and a professionally marshalled course delivered in partnership with Dart Totnes ARC.

All competitor sign-up, race documents, and event information are available at: https://linktr.ee/UPRCHeadRace.

Socials

Socials are at the heart of UPRC. From weekly Wednesday nights to non-drinking events like bowling, and tubing - there’s something for everyone. Highlights include Christmas Dinner, Handover Meal, and a long list of fancy-dress classics.

Events & Racing

We run an Easter training camp and race at local and national events. Our major competitions include Bristol Head, WEHORR, and BUCS Regatta - weekends of intense racing, team bonding, and unforgettable socials.

Alumni

UPRC has a growing alumni network supporting today’s athletes. The UPRC Alumni Foundation helps fund equipment, coaching opportunities, and club development, ensuring each generation of rowers leaves the club stronger than they found it. For those that have rowed at UPRC, you can become an alumni member at www.plymouthrowingalumni.co.uk

Coxing

Coxing at UPRC is a brilliant way to grow your confidence, leadership and communication skills. Whether you're brand new or have raced Henley, our coaches and senior coxes will help you develop quickly. You’ll have plenty of time on the water, plus all the fun that comes with being part of an active, social club.
