What is the Summer Ball?
The Summer Ball is the biggest event of the year for University of Plymouth students. For one night only, we take over the University of Plymouth campus and put on a huge festival event to give you the chance to celebrate your year coming to an end in style.

Who can attend?
Any current student at the University of Plymouth can purchase tickets to the Summer Ball. As a student, you can purchase up to two tickets to the Summer Ball and one of these can be for a guest who is not a student at the University of Plymouth.
The Summer Ball is an over 18s event and so you (and any guests you bring) must be over the age of 18 and valid photographic ID must be produced at the Ball entrance and on request at the bars inside the Ball.
Where is the Summer Ball?
The Summer Ball will take place across the entire University of Plymouth main campus. The only entrance to the event will be via Endsleigh Place with the gates located between the Mary Newman Halls of Residence and Portland Square.
When is this year's Summer Ball?
The Summer Ball 2026 will take place on Saturday 23rd May 2026. The event will start at 5pm and run until 3am on Sunday 24th May. Doors will close and last entry will be at 9pm, there will be no entry to the event after 9pm.
When can I purchase tickets?
The Summer Ball 2026 tickets will go on sale at 12pm on Thursday 12th February (Final Year Students) & 12pm on Friday 13th February (All Students). Tickets will be sold through our third-party ticketing provider, Native.
Once you have purchased your ticket you will need to collect your wristband in person from the SU Bar, collection dates will be announced nearer the event but typically take place the week before the Summer Ball. You will not be able to collect your wristband before the specified collection dates.
How do I collect my Summer Ball ticket once I have purchased the tickets online?
You will need to collect your physical ticket (wristband) from the SU on the following dates:
- Tuesday 19th May; 3 - 8pm
- Wednesday 20th May; 3 - 8pm
- Thursday 21st May; 3 - 8pm
- Friday 22nd May; 3 – 8pm
Tickets will be available to collect on the dates above from the UPSU Main Bar. You will need to show the QR code provided in the email receipt to be scanned by staff to receive your wristband.
You will also need to provide another form of ID such as your student card or photographic ID to collect your wristband.
