The University of Plymouth Law Society are pleased to announce we are the winners of the Best Careers Event of the Year for our prestigious Cheese and Wine Networking Event! This event is organised primarily by the UPLS, the Events and Activities Officers- Jasmine Tottel-Clarke and Gracie Coleman and the Secretary and Careers Officer- Claire von Hoesslin.
Jasmine, Gracie, Daniel Parkinson (our UPLS President) and Claire were fortunate enough to travel up to London to accept this award on behalf of the University of Plymouth Law Society. We could not have achieved this award without the amazing support from the University of Plymouth, the University of Plymouth Law School and the Students' Union. Over 200 legal professionals from the local area attend the Cheese and Wine Networking Event: including barristers, solicitors, lecturers, police officers and many more professionals from the legal sector. This is the ideal event for students to build their networking skills, meet practitioners who can offer support and guidance and to explore different avenues into the legal sector.
The SLS Awards 2023 was held at 116 Pall Mall in London and was graciously sponsored by AllHires. We were able to network with likeminded students from different universities across England, sharing success stories and building relationships. We were very nervous as the nominations were being read out, but WE WON!!! We would like to thank our amazing UPLS committee for all of their hard work and dedication this year in not only organising their own events but also continuously supporting each other. Finally, we would like to congratulate Jasmine Tottel-Clarke and Gracie Coleman in co-ordinating this award-winning event, without your creativity and commitment the Cheese and Wine Networking Event would not be as spectacular as you have made it!
