Let the club know you're interested but not yet ready for a membership.
Started in 2021 we are the newest club to join! This is a fully student run club with all abilities welcome, even if you've never fished before. We aim to run 1 fishing trip a week with various competitions throughout the year. Days and dates vary due to the weather dependance for a good session. We are mainly a sea fishing based society but we are open to impliment some course fishing too if the demand is there. We meet usually at either West Hoe pier, Elphinstone car park or Mount Batten pier all around a 20 min travelling time from the University.
We organise boat fishing trips, shore fishing trips and freshwater fishing for you coarse anglers!
Collaborations and benefits:
Osborne and Cragg Fishing Tackle:
The club managed to secure a collaboration with the first and oldest fishing and tackle shop in Plymouth. Established in 1972 and bought by the current owners in 1988 by David and Simon Osborne. A traditional tackle shop with the most modern equipment and a good range of baits! Our hoodies and club clothing will have shared logos for advertisement and support of the Club and Osborne and Cragg.
Guide to Fishing in Plymouth:
All member will have access to "Guide to Fishing in Plymouth", written and researched by the chair and founder, as well as the experienced committee members. The guide contains information on all local fishing locations, including shore fishing, off-shore boat fishing and in-shore boat fishing, a brilliant guide for new and experienced anglers to make the most out of fishing in Plymouth!
Every year we aim to run competitons aimed at all members of the club, from new to experienced anglers. Win trophies and bragging rights by partaking in these, here are some of the competitions we aim to run over the year:
- Conger Eel Competition
- The Big Ballan Wrasse Bash
- A year long species hunt
