Barista

We have a fantastic opportunity for a trained Barista to work within our student-focused coffee shop in our Students Union. The role is term time fixed term contract and will involve Monday to Friday working pattern usually from 8am - 12pm each day.
 

Purpose of the post:

To provide excellent customer service and quality coffee to our student members and customers as part of our morning coffee & snacks offering. To assist the management team and chef team in effective service and delivery.

Barista Duties and responsibilities:

• Serving hot and cold beverages, as well as snack food in the Coffee Spot
• Setting up the coffee area for service, ensuring appropriate grind and extract times each day.
• Preparing and cooking sweet & savory pastry offerings
• To deliver the highest levels of customer service in line with UPSU’s brand standards and those of our suppliers, especially in coffee service.
• To have an excellent knowledge of our menu offerings, including coming up with seasonal drinks promotions.
• To record morning fridge and freezer temperatures as well as accurate recording of hot food temperatures in accordance with food safety.
• To keep on top of popular trends within the local café industry.
• To produce & serve all drinks to Devon Coffee Co brand standards & recipes
• To build a rapport with our current customer base and come up with innovative ideas to help expand it.
