Learn how to spot the common tactics used by scammers and how you can avoid becoming a victim!

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Pop along to The Large Room within the SU over lunch to chat to a representative from Santander, and find out how to spot the common tactics used by scammers, and how you can avoid becoming a victim! Find out about:

  • Common types of scams, from impersonation scams to text message scams;
  • Tactics criminals use to convince you to reveal sensitive personal information or part with your money;
  • The dangers of oversharing personal information online and how easily it can be done; and
  • Ways in which customers can protect themselves from becoming the victim of a scam.

Faye Joint, Community Branch Manager, says: “The dangers posed by fraud and scams are more prevalent today than ever, with criminals using increasingly sophisticated methods to target and trick people out of their money. “We believe that working with people to raise awareness of scams and how to avoid them is a key part of tackling this issue. Our free, events are a safe way for people to arm themselves against the scammers before it’s too late.”
