UMMIKHARI AHMED

Hi, I’m ummikhari ahmed, a second-year international business economics student, i'm from nigeria and as well an international student and I’m currently the vice president of the nss society. I’ll be running for the part-time international students’ officer for non-EU-students. I will be focusing more on providing international students with more opportunities in developing career skills on campus and find jobs after university. there are quite few reasons why I would want myself to be elected as the part-time international student officer. i stand for acceptance, honesty, determination, leadership and creativity. what I know I would bring is creativity, responsibility, humour and everything I stand for. I want to be part of the international student officer because I know I would bring in unique ideas as much as I love being part of this. all I hope is to gain leadership skills, improved abilities to work with. Students with challenges who’d want it to be addressed wouldn’t have a problem as I would love to tackle the problem as soon as I can and bring it up to the university of Plymouth student union (UPSU).

My aims are:

To Improve communication barriers between international students.

Organise themed events to bring students together, where there will be music and food from each specific country.

Enhance support and advice all students across all campuses.

Protect international students from any changes/challenges in the university which might affect this group.

Promote multiculturalism and diversity at the university.

promotes international and domestic student interactions while providing feedback to the University of plymouth on programs, services, and support for international students.
