LUKE LAMPLOUGH

I strongly believe as students we should expect that the process of our Student’s Union is conducted correctly. That, as students, our interests should be at the heart of our Union. To ensure that student’s voices and opinions are heard fairly and equally. Where they aren’t redress is made to correct, and uphold the high standards, and those responsible are held to account for their actions.

As a course representative I held my faculty to account on several matters where I thought fairness, and equality, hadn’t been upheld. I fought hard to ensure that the right outcome came for these issues. I personally see myself as unbiased, I look at the raw facts present and make a judgement from that. I feel this is highly important for the accountability board, where in meetings decisions are made it is important that they are reflective of what the student body, as a whole, wishes.

I believe firmly that everyone has the right to express their opinion freely and fairly – I wish to ensure that this is upheld. Whether it is council members, the student forums, or policies that are up for debate – the process should treat each person, and topic, fairly.

I pride myself on being approachable, so should anyone feel that something isn’t being conducted correctly you would be easily able approach myself and talk about the issues – and how they can be resolved. Taking the actions forward to resolve the issues present.
