Tuesday 18th May

John Robbins

As an act John "represents the new wave of storyteller" Evening Post. Skilfully weaving narrative, improvisation and punchy gags into his unique, self-effacing style. As a compere John quickly made his name as one of the most quick-witted, engaging MCs on the circuit. Always willing to expect the unexpected, John guarantees a great show for audiences and acts alike. He’s the latest maverick to burst out of Bristol’s hotbed of talent and he has stories to tell, banter to have, and bombs to drop.

“The pinnacle of the show…Robins was worth the ticket price alone” ThreeWeeks

"Fresh and Original" BBC

Henry Widdicombe

Henry is a grocery-based comedian peddling his wares in South Wales and borders. Do with him what you will. His supermarket styling’s have been going down a treat since he started voicing them at gigs in 2008. After only 8 gigs he was asked to take part in the Welsh comedy showcase South by South Wales at Edinburgh Festival 08 (produced by Good Sense Of Humour), and become a regular feature on the Rhod Gilbert Saturday Morning Show on Radio Wales.

Henry has gigged at the Gilded Balloon as part of South by South Wales, Cardiff University (supporting Russell Howard and Simon Munnery), Swansea Grand Theatre, Mark Olver’s Oppo Club, Cardiff’s Drones Club, and all the other usual suspects in South Wales. He supported Mark Olver twice (Monmouth and Shrewsbury) as he rambled to Edinburgh this year.

“The real star was Henry Widdicombe” Three Weeks reviewing South by South Wales at Ed 08

“A wonderful eye for detail and a subtlety of creative expression that is joyous” Rhod Gilbert

Sally-Anne Hayward

Sally-Anne Hayward has been described as a charming and popular performer with a winning brand of autobiographical humour. She always manages to endear herself to any audience by taking them on a journey through her slightly eccentric world, including insights into the female psyche and her compulsion to send off spoof job applications.

Currently performing at major venues up and down the country and regular compere at Jesters Comedy Club in Bristol, Sally is in high demand across the UK. As well as working as a comedian, Sally is an accomplished radio presenter and stage and television actress.

"Small time country posh life versus young lady breaking into the stand-up circuit. Fabulous." - BBC London Live

"This comedienne has developed a sharp, incisive style, making her a delight to watch…Has been singled out as a star for the future." Roar with Laughter on line review
