About:

University of Plymouth Football Club welcomes all to join one of the biggest sports clubs at Uni! The club is made up of a number of teams of ranging abilities to suit all our members. Teams 1- 2 play in the BUCS Western leagues, where they compete against other Universities. Our teams 3s to 8s play in two Devon Wednesday leagues against other local teams, including one Marjon team. We then also offer several intramural teams that play each other and teams formed by other societies on Sunday afternoons. All teams train every Friday evening on an all-weather 3G pitch and training is run by the captains. We hold trials for freshers at these pitches and you will be notified of the exact dates via our Instagram and Facebook pages. It is imperative that players attend the trials if you want to get into a team best suited to your ability! 

Socials:

After representing UPFC on a Wednesday afternoon, all teams playing at our home pitch rendezvous in the Staddy pub for a post-match beverage. after this we then all get together for our weekly sports socials wearing the famous UPFC ties! All teams meet in the SU before heading to Fever for the captains to go through the match reports and announce Man of the Match awards. From here we end up at Walkabout with the rest of the sports clubs and societies. We also have a number of themed nights and joint socials with other clubs, you’ll find out more details about these once joining. To finish the year we have our annual DnD to celebrate the year and all of the achievements by teams and individuals. All our members are welcome out on socials and we encourage people to get involved, this is the best way to make friends and make a name for yourself within the club. if you ask any members from previous years, showing up on socials and being generally involved in the club is the way they've made their friends for life and also how they have got where they are in the club. It also gets you well known to those in other societies too!

Events:

As a club, we are very proud to support Teenage Cancer trust! 

This charity is close to our hearts due to a member passing away a few years back and we continue to support it through Murphmania. Throughout the year we host a number of events to raise money for our beloved charity. These events have included the Fred Binney cup and Shave or Dye in the past. We encourage all of our members to get involved in these events!

Unfortunately, we lost one of our beloved members last year, Callum Quartley, known as Cal to his friends. This is something as a club we cannot allow to happen to another of our loved members, we actively encourage members of our club to speak up and ask for help no matter what the issue is. All of our execs are very approachable and are happy to help, if you don't feel comfortable approaching them in person regarding an issue or struggle then they will respond to all messages on Facebook, Instagram, etc. As well as this we want to ensure Callum's name is never forgotten, each year at the end of April we will host the Callum Quartley Cup, you will find out more information on this throughout the year.

Finally, our 4 top teams play Varsity games against Marjon every year. This is a huge event for both the uni and our club, and one the whole club gets involved in to support! The first team Varsity is played at the Plymouth Argyle stadium, Home Park.
