About Us

The Women's Basketball club accepts players of all abilities. Whether you're into competing, fitness or just for fun, joining the team is a great opportunity to make new friends, improve your fitness levels and have some fun. Our training sessions are helpful in developing basketball skills, improving fitness levels and developing teamwork skills. We do NOT charge extra fees per training session as this is all covered in the joining fee.

Make sure you find us at the sports fair on the 20th September at 11:00-16:00, to register your interest in the club, to find out more information about trials and to ask us any questions you have about the club.

Training

Training will take place Tuesday 6-8pm at Nancy Astor sports hall, starting Tuesday the 3rd of October.

Give it a go sessions will be Thursday 6-7pm at Nancy Astor. 

There is an opportunity for anyone who would like to compete to play in a local league matches, more information will be given at the freshers fair and training!

Socials

Socials ("nights out") are held every other week, alongside the Men's Basketball team on a Wednesday night (most of which will be themed!), however, we do hold occasional socials for just the girl's team to hangout off-court together. We also hold some 'sober socials' as well as well, so there is something for everyone ! During the first month of University, we will hold extra socials as a way for everyone to settle into the team and get to know each other! Just before the Christmas holidays, a Christmas meal at a restaurant is organised and at the end of the academic year, a final meal out together is organised where we hand out awards within the club.
