About us
UPSU Scuba Society is for Plymouth University students that have an interest in scuba diving! From the experienced diver to those completely new to the sport, everyone is welcome!
Founded in 2014 we've come a long way, starting with a few members and being shortlisted for Best New Society in our first year, to being the Society of the year, Give it a Go Champions, awarded Gold ICONS, and now being one of the biggest societies with over 150 annual members!
As a society we are affiliated with a local dive centre - Indeep - and offer discounted diving and discounts on all diving courses! If you wish to do your HSE, package deals are also offered cheaper for the HSE prerequisites.
Costs
The £5 membership is for everyone in the society, so you can take part in socials, trips and events, it also makes you eligible for diving and training discounts. It doesn't include equipment rental!
The £75 gear rental agreement on top to the society membership gives you 12 months Equiptment rental from Indeep (excluding drysuit hire), meaning that whenever you dive with the society your equiptment rental is FREE!
Don't try and buy a committee membership - we can see which memberships you buy so will catch you out!!

Socials and Events
Throughout the year we run regular socials (drinking and non-drinking) and events for members. This year we have loads of fun socials, charity events, talks and volunteering projects.
We are sponsored by roundabout so we will be running weekly club meetings on its premises
Diving will be running as often as possible, this will primarily be on Wednesday evenings, and occasionally on weekends.
We're also continuing our "Divers Against Debris" project this year, including beach cleans, ocean cleans and other green impact events!
Keep an eye out at the start of the year for information about our summer holiday... there will be limited spaces!
