All Things Vintage & Lovely Fair

The All things Vintage & Lovely fair was launched in Torquay in November 2011 by Miss Ivy Events, created by Joanne Macaskie. As she runs a Vintage shop, many people inquired as to why there were no Vintage fairs locally as they are so popular up country. Taking matters into her own hands, the first show was held at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay in November 2011. It was such a huge success that another fair took place in March 2012.

As Joanne had lots of Plymouth exhibitors and customers who said that we really need a big Vintage fair, she decided to find a venue and launch “All things Vintage & Lovely” in Plymouth also.

The fair is to be held at the Guildhall, Royal Parade, Plymouth on Saturday 29th September 10:30 – 4:30. There will be over 65 Vintage, retro and handcrafted exhibitors. “Just Misbehavin’,” a jazz and swing band will be playing live alongside a spectacular Vintage catwalk, demos by local craftspeople, cream teas and lots more!

They are also doing a Charity raffle in aid of Help the Heroes, for whom they have raised over £600.00 for atthefairs they have already organised. Everyone attending the fair will also be entered into a FREE prize draw to win an ultimate Vintage Makeover, which includes a 1950’s style dress, makeup, hair and a photo shoot.

Joanne hopes to make this a regular event for Plymouth and has got University students involved in the catwalk (including myself!), which will be in the era of the 1940’s upwards, and with 20 models there is a vast range of styles to see, from elegant dresses to funky swimsuits.

Entry to the fair is £1.50 (under 16’s free) and I would strongly recommend coming along if you are interested in anything Vintage, are a fashion student, or even just to see something different and exciting in Plymouth!
