The day of your graduation is one that you will always remember. Your courses and exams are over, and you’ve decided what will come next in your life (potentially). You even may be leaving Plymouth, saying a temporary good-bye to close friends and loved ones.

 

Your whole family will be at the ceremony and you almost certainly have plans to attend a party afterwards. Maybe there’s something in the works for later, too. No doubt it will be a very long day, and you'll be on your feet for almost all of it.

 

It will be a day of public acknowledgement and celebration, and you’ll be one of the centres of attention. Everyone will be taking photos, and every detail of your appearance will be noticed, from your hair all the way down to your shoes.

 

No doubt you’ve already given some thought to your outfit. You may also want to pay some attention to your choice of shoes. It will be tempting to go with whichever pair has the look you want. However, the look you want is probably not one expressing the pain caused by blisters and pinched toes.

 

Choose a pair of shoes that balances comfort with appearance, and break them in before graduation day. This is one of the most important days of your life, and yes you want to look fantastic, but make sure you can bear to walk around and take in the moment – rather than stepping on tip-toes with horrifically uncomfortable shoes.
