Hi,
Campaigning for change is never easier, nor should it be entered into light-heartedly. I am a mature student, but please don’t let that put you off because I am not that old! and in-fact what it brings with it is life experience and a determination to succeed.

Life experience should not be played down, especially when it is relevant.... in my lifetime so far, I have been a carer for some one with mental illness, a foster carer, worked in education out of school, and I have worked in hospitals with sick children. I have also done voluntary work as Scout leader and a youth club worker... and whilst at uni I have served as a commitee rep and also a faculty rep... Currently I manage the care of my children and my part time job with university commitments.

How is all this relevant you may ask, well I feel it shows strength of character, a caring nature, indicates that I can multi task and a determination to excel in challenges placed before me, some thing which this position needs. After already commiting time to uni on a voluntary basis I wish to build upon this and play a role in its future for the benfit of the students... change needs to happen for all the students.... young and old alike.

University life is harder for some, and I want to give the students someone who they can talk to, some one who they know will listen to them and take up their cause. University now attracts students young and old alike, and each student is very unique, and has their own reasons for being here, whether it is to better themselves or a job requirement or just for fun!!! I want to think that every opinion counts.... no matter how small you think the problem is, I can and will listen....

You are paying for this education, so I want to be here to make sure you get value for money and that as a student your welfare and education concerns are acted upon! After all this is your future. I believe compassion for others mixed with a desire to succeed makes me right for this role..... I want what is best for all students now and in the future... if I can with the assistance of student body make positive changes for the life of students then I can hope that in the future my children and possibly your future children can go to a university which has a great welfare and education program in place, a university where you are not just a number... a university where even the smallest voice is heard..... a university where the students are regarded as the most important assets! Come and find me around campus campaigning and have a chat... support the campaign and remember to vote!

So please vote for TRINA to be No 1! or at the very least No 2!!!
