I would make a great President because:
I’ve been Deputy President for the last seven months and feel I have developed a great understanding of what being a sabbatical officer is all about. Each day is different and every day I get the chance to further develop my skills, campaign for students and make a difference. I feel confident that the Students’ Union is heading in the right direction and I believe I have a great deal to offer. I’m excited to have the chance to make a difference to University of Plymouth students’.
About a year ago I made the decision to go for the position of Deputy President and I’m so glad I did. Of course you have your bad days, but you also have your good and your amazing days! All I can say is that the last seven months as Deputy President have been incredible. Each day offers a new experience and yeah, sometimes it’s tough, sometimes it’s challenging, but it’s always rewarding.
I have developed so many skills since working for the Students’ Union that I want to do it all again! I’ve always been a very determined person and I’m ready for the next challenge.... being President!
My manifesto outlines the things I want to achieve over the next year. The main reason I’m here is to represent all of you. In a position of such high responsibility I want to make changes for the better and I want to be able to improve the overall student experience. For example, one of my main campaigns is for students to have 24/7 access to the Library facilities. It’s been a real issue for the last few years and its time the University listened! You deserve to have great facilities, great lecturers and a great Students’ Union, remember you’re paying for it!
Of course I have my own ideas, but I’m keen to continue the work of the current sabbatical team and want to carry forward all the great things they’ve been working towards. I’m also keen to work with the new sabbatical team, develop their ideas and make a difference to all students’. Whether you’re studying on campus or in one of our partner colleges, you deserve to have a great experience and I hope to further improve links with all our students’ over the coming year.
Please take a moment to read through my manifesto and please vote it’s important you have a say in the running of your Students’ Union.
