► Starting a Society

At the University of Plymouth we have many Societies that you can get involved in. We boast a huge range of different clubs and societies that anyone at the university is welcome to join. If you can't find a club or society to suit you why not start one?

Start your own society

Step 1

Will your society offer something different to those we already have?

Step 2

Get 20 names & Student ID numbers of students that would be interested in joining your society. These need to include students who would help you run the society when it is set up.

Step 3

You need to decide on your committe, which must consist of a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Safety Officer.
A committee form, code of conduct, model constitution and your list of signatories must be given in to the Sports & Societies Office.

Step 4

Your proposal will be submitted to the Sports & Societies Committee, who will consider it at the next meeting. At least one member of your new committee must be present to represent you.

Step 5

If your proposal is accepted you and now ready to start running your brand new club/society - Good Luck!
