The UPSU Award
Some Questions Answered
Why do it?
This award has been designed to help students at Plymouth develop, practice and extend their skills and gain experience that will enhance their employability. A real chance to demonstrate to employers the range and extent of skills they have to offer. You know that your degree makes you eligible for graduate jobs, but this award will showcase your other achievements, experience and various skills that make you stand out from other applicants.
Who Can Apply?
Any student studying at the University of Plymouth. You can register now, just make sure you leave yourself enough time to complete the programme-including the compulsory modules (delivered as workshops, these are starting on Wed 21st October 2009 and run for three weeks every Wednesday evening from 6.00 til 8.00)
What sort of things do I have to do?
The Award is very flexible and tries to incorporate some of the things that you are probably doing already e.g. extra-curricular activities, such as sport or volunteering activities, and you have to attend some skills workshops.
How much does it cost to Register?
That’s another great thing about the UPSU Award it’s absolutely FREE! All we ask is you attend the sessions you book in advance. Places are limited so you really need to make sure you can attend all three workshop dates before you sign up.
How will I record and evidence what I’ve done?
You will be able to record all your activity electronically on Pepple Pad and make sure you sign the attendance registers at mandatory skills workshops.
How do I sign up?
Go to trainingacademy@upsu.com find UPSU Award on the drop down menu and download an application form, or come into the SU and pick up a form from Denise Hayward on Floor 1.
