Meet Denise
Hello,
I’m Denise Hayward and I’m the Training Coordinator here at UPSU. So, if it’s informal learning and skills development you’re looking for, come and check out what’s on offer here at UPSU.
One of my aims is to make sure that all our student volunteers are appropriately trained to confidently and safely undertake their chosen voluntary work, so here’s a list of what’s currently on offer,
First Aid Training
Child Protection Training
Course Rep training
British Sign Language
For those interested in getting their CV’s up to date and some really useful practical advice on preparing for job interviews I recommend the UPSU Award scheme. Basically you need to complete 30 hours of voluntary activity and attend 3 workshops to gain this award. Details can be found by going to www.upsu.com/trainingacademy where you can get more information and dates of the workshops.
I will be at the Volunteer Induction Evening on 14th Oct in the Main Hall so do come along and find out all about whats on offer then, of contact me on email or come along to the First floor at the Students’ Union for a chat.
