UPSU and the National Union of Students (NUS)

The University of Plymouth Students' Union is affiliated to the National Union of Students. NUS is a confederation of over 600 students' unions, amounting to over 95% of all Higher and Further education unions in the UK. The National Union represents over 7 million UK students, and therefore it is important that UPSU is involved in this movement.

In the past, UPSU students have joined campaigns being run by the National Union, including campaigns against top-up fees and anti-racism rallies. We also take part in the NUS Annual Conference, joining other student officers in setting policy and direction for the National Union.

For more information about NUS, visit their website here

or come and chat to one of the Sabbatical Officers here at UPSU.

NUS Extra
One of the most significant benefits for UPSU students on an individual level is the avaliability of the NUS Extra card.

This card is a bargain at just £10, and provides a number of benefits. Aside from proving that you are a student, it also entitles you to a number of exclusive discounts on the high-street. From Amazon to the AA there are a whole range of discounts avaliable - Keep an eye on the NUS Extra website for details.
